In 2019 Saint John launched its Coordinated Access System with an aim to streamline access to housing supports for those experiencing homelessness. Providing backbone support for the system, the Human Development Council manages the city’s By Name List and works with more than 10 other agencies, programs, and government departments to prioritize people for housing and connect them to supports. In the coming years, this approach will help the community progress toward its goal of ending chronic homelessness.
